Power in Prayer

Updated: Jul 19, 2022

Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

Matthew 26:39

The most powerful tool we have at our disposal is prayer. As mamas there are many things we face that feel overwhelming, discouraging or defeating. We may, like Jesus in the garden, pray that our cup be taken from us. When it isn't, we feel abandoned or unheard. Yet, prayer's purpose is learning to align your heart with God's will. Not the other way around.

Praying for God's will to be done in your circumstance may feel scary. If you are like me, you like to stay in control. Handing your circumstance over to God, means releasing control. Allowing God to work through your circumstance however He sees fit is the bravest thing you can do as a mom. When you truly posture your heart to be in the will of your heavenly Father, He will be certain to fill you up with whatever it is you need to face the trials ahead. Whether that be patience to handle a fussy toddler, peace to handle a hard diagnosis from the doctor, or strength to face a trial in your marriage.

God will give you everything you need to face whatever it is you are facing today, mama. As Jesus did, pour your heart out to the Father. Come to Him with whatever is overwhelming you today. Leave it at His feet and let His will be done. It may feel scary to let go, but I promise, God is with you, no matter the outcome.

Love you mama!
