Becoming a Mom

Updated: Jul 19, 2022

Becoming a mom was much more than I ever expected it to be. I had dreamed about having my own children one day, but the reality of the day in and day out of motherhood wasn't something I had thought about much. When we become mamas for the first time, the course of our lives are altered forever. From the time those two pink lines show up on that test, our lives are no longer about us. Every decision we make from here on out includes and effects another little human.

Although this can feel daunting, it isn't meant to. Because our lives were never meant to be about us in the first place. We were created for so much more. Our lives are meant to reflect our Creator and He showed us what it means to live and love through serving others. Serving others with our time, our treasures, and our gifts. Ultimately all of what we have should be used to serve those around us. That includes our children and our families.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.

1 Peter 4:10

Although the task of motherhood can feel overwhelming, God is walking with you every step of the way. Lean on Him as you learn to love your children, spouses, and families as He loves you. In ways that may not make sense to others around you. May you be a mama who sacrificially and sincerely serves her family all the days of her life. No one may see how you serve your family. The twelve loads of laundry you did today. The making of the beds or tidying of the toys. It may go seemingly unnoticed or underappreciated, but know that God sees you. He sees all the mundane things you do day in and day out. Nothing goes unnoticed by your Maker.

Love you mama! ❤️
